Nancy received her associate degree in business from Lansing Community College in Lansing, Michigan, where she was born and raised.  After working for nearly 25 years in the private sector, she joined the North Carolina Institute for Public Health in 2000.  She is passionate about public health, and, most of all; she is passionate about Management Academy students. 

Immediately, upon moving to Durham in 1999, she started dedicating her spare time to improving her community.  In 2004, she received the neighborhood Hero Award. This award is given to nine people in the City of Durham who have truly made a difference in their community. Nancy enjoys living in Durham and hopes to continuously use her leadership skills to give back to her community.
